Sharing The Gospel With Mormons

(please read sharing the gospel with other religions)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Creator of Heaven and earth, visible and invisible, I pray for your abundant grace towards the Mormon Church (LDS). Please cause the Mormon people in the United Kingdom and around the world to see your truth and find true salvation by grace and freedom.

I pray Heavenly Father God that you will put your faithful Christian workers across the path of Mormon people to share your truth patiently. Open the eyes of the leaders of the Mormon Church to see the lies that they have been taught. Cause them to hunger and thirst for your truth.

Please change the hearts of the Mormon leaders who are in charge of the Mormon Church world wide. Lord they know that they are teaching falsehood and that they are hiding the truth, give them the courage to be honest and recognise and repent of this false teaching and truly turn to you the One true God.

Father God help the Mormon Church to separate itself from its past history and follow the true Christian teachings of the Holy Bible. Give the Mormon leaders a heart of compassion and love towards the Mormon people, to teach them the way of true salvation found only in Jesus Christ, through His blood sacrifice  on the cross and by grace and not works.

Father God cause a movement in the Mormon Church worldwide (LDS) that brings trust acceptance and adoption of the Bible teachings on Christianity. That they would recognise the integrity and correct translation of the King James Bible, cause them to repent and become a valuable part of the true body of our Saviour Jesus Christ. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 2 Corinthians 11:4 (King James Version)

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8 (King James Version)

Sharing The Gospel With Mormons

(the church of Jesus Christ of the latter day saints)

It is a great act of Christian love when you decided to take the time to show individual Mormon people how they can know the real truth of salvation.

That true salvation is found only in Jesus Christ by grace alone. There is no easy way to reach them, please use this page as a starting point. I have included some excellent links to specialised websites that deal with reaching Mormon people with the truth. These websites have some great resources that will help equip you. If you have a family member or friend that is caught in this false religion then prayer is the key. Have faith in God and Ask Him to open their spiritual eyes when you share the truth of His word the Bible.

Mormon Bishop Earl and his journey out of Mormonism to salvation in Christ Jesus

Prevention is better than cure

This is a vital thing to do as a local Christian Church.

The United Kingdom Movement for Christian Evangelism advise all local Churches to organise the distribution of warning tracts in their communities.

  • The Local Church congregations should distribute these warning tracts with a Church invitation (remember to include your start time and telephone number). Offer to call by appointment to their homes if they want to know more about the salvation that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Use this tract or design your own

warning tract against JW and Morman Cults.

  • If you are unhappy distributing warning tracts then you must regularly distribute your Church tract inviting people into the local Church.  The Church tract should contain all the practical information like address, start times, telephone number, website address  It should also offer people in the community the opportunity to arrange a visit by appointment to find out about Christian salvation and beliefs (see “up my street“, “organising an outreach“).

So how do we share the gospel with Mormons

I have discovered an excellent website that challenges Mormon people to examine their beliefs in the light of true Biblical teaching http://mormoninfo.org. The simple answer to sharing the gospel with a Mormon is to get them to examine what the Bible actually teaches. Point out to them that their are many areas of Mormon teaching that do not make sense and it is reasonable for them to examine these areas to find the truth.

Remember seekers of God who fall into false religions do not find salvation. This results in them believing in a God has accepted them and if they die in their sin they will face eternal separation from God in hell. As Christians we must reach out to them. If you are called to evangelise Mormons then please answer your call.

Is Mormonism Christian?

From Mormonism to Christ – An Evening with Sandra Tanner – this is an excellent video.

When sharing the true gospel message of salvation found only through Jesus Christ with Mormons you should be aware of a number of things.

  • Mormons have the same religious terms as Christians but key words like salvation mean different things (Mormons believe that the blood of Jesus does not cover every sin!). For example the Mormon Jesus is completely different from the true Jesus of the Holy Scripture found in the true Bible. The Mormon Jesus was a spirit-child of Elohim, brother of Lucifer (Satan), and was born physically through a sexual relationship between Elohim (the Father) and Mary. The Biblical Jesus is the eternally self-existent second Person of the Trinity who is co-equal with God the Father and one with Him in essence. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary after the Holy Spirit placed the fertilized egg in Mary’s womb. Jesus is fully God and fully man, yet without sin! Do you see how vastly Mormons and Christians differ in their view of Jesus, even though both use the same term? You will need to be aware of these differences to be an effective witness. If you are unaware you will become confused when reaching out to them.
  • Stick to the Bible (Scripture) message of salvation as Mormons do not have a free salvation by grace apart from works. In fact the standard according to Mormonism, is their own complete perfection. The only way to be worthy to receive grace in Mormonism is to completely cease all sinning, even the smallest sin must be eliminated. False Mormon teaching “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.” (2 Nephi 25:23)  Since it is impossible to “do all you can do” and none of us can ever be perfect, it is impossible to ever become worthy of Grace in Mormonism. There is no salvation, Mormonism has a false gospel that is not good news. Explain to Mormons that their is a true and Biblical gospel. That their is only one way of salvation and that they can choose this way. This Biblical way clearly teaches it is possible for man to be saved. It teaches that Father God’s grace is freely given to sinners, apart from their works, Ephesians 2:8-10. According to the Holy Bible God’s true grace saves sinners in their sins. Luke 18:10-14 & Luke 23:43. This is the truth according to the Holy Scriptures.
  • Explain point by point, scripture by scripture what salvation means and how to receive it.  Explain who Jesus Christ really was from the scriptures (Mormons have a different false Jesus). Explain why Jesus died on the cross and why He rose again. Explain the free gift of grace apart from works. Explain right standing with Father God through being made righteousness in Christs righteousness through the cleansing of His blood.
  • Educate yourself using all the information on this website and the link websites dealing with reaching out to Mormon people. Look at the recommended books and resources. Design good quality tracts upload them onto the internet and make them  free to use. Jesus wants us to make information accessible and free in the area of evangelism. If you are gifted by the Holy Spirit in this area please help Christians around the world by producing free to us Pdf and word based tracts. (see sharing the gospelprayer of salvation).

Former LDS Bishop Earl Erskine and his wife talk to Pastor Rick Brown about coming out of the Mormon religion into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Please pray for Earl Erskine and his wife, pray for the salvation of their children and all their grandchildren.

Mormons are not Christians.

Mormons (LDS) are a False Religion based on very strange non christian beliefs. Here are just a few past and present:

  • ADAM-GOD DOCTRINE: Brigham Young proclaimed that Adam conceived Jesus and that Adam “is our Father our God, and the only God with whom we have to do.” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 50, 51) This doctrine has officially been denounced by the modern LDS Church.
  • JESUS HAD MANY WIVES: LDS Apostles Orson Hyde, Orson Pratt and Jedediah M. Grant claimed that Jesus was a “Polygamist” who married several women. (The Seer, p. 172; Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 346; vol. 4, p. 259) The LDS Church of today seeks to distance itself from the polygamist views of early Mormon leaders and thus does not adhere to this view today.
  • THE FATHER PROCREATED JESUS’ HUMAN BODY: LDS authorities and church manuals have taught that Jesus is the “literal” Son of God whose fleshly body was physically “conceived”
and “begotten” by Heavenly Father and Mary in the same way that children are begotten. (Mormon Doctrine, p. 742; Family Home Evening, 1972, pp. 125-126) Although LDS leaders today tend to
de-emphasize this belief, it has never been denounced officially by the LDS Church.
  • BLOOD ATONEMENT: The Prophet Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, Joseph Fielding Smith and LDS Apostle Bruce R. McConkie all claimed that there are “certain sins” which the blood of Christ cannot cover and that one must have his “own blood shed” to atone for those sins. (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, pp. 134-135, Journal of Discourses, vol. 4, pp. 53-54, Mormon Doctrine, pp. 92-93) This doctrine, known as the “blood atonement” doctrine, is not emphasized today, but has never been denounced by the LDS Church.
  • GARDEN OF EDEN IN MISSOURI: Joseph Smith taught Jackson County is where the Garden of Eden was located and that when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden, they moved to Caldwell County and Daviess Country of Far West, Missouri. LDS believe Far West is the location where Cain killed Abel. The “Adam-ondi-Ahman” valley in Daviess County is thought to be the location where Adam will visit prior to the second coming of Christ. While this view is still held by LDS, it has no support with the Biblical text. Since Genesis 2:10-14 mentions the Tigris and Euphrates rivers flowing from the Garden of Eden, many speculate that if these rivers are in the same location as they were before the flood, the Garden of Eden was located somewhere in the Middle East, possibly in Iraq.
  • CREATION NOT OUT OF NOTHING: Mormons believe that God did not create the world “ex nihilo” (out of nothing), but merely organized matter already in existence. This view is not unique to Mormonism, for it grew out of second and third century Greek Gnosticism and Aristotelian and the Platonic views of the world. Early Church Fathers such as Irenaeus and Tertullian argued strongly for the Christian belief that God created the world out of nothing and this has been the historic Christian position for centuries. While the Bible does not specifically state that God created all things “out of nothing,” it is significant that Scripture uses language that leads to this view. At Hebrews 11:3 and Romans 4:17 we see that God created the visible world out of the invisible, and that He “calls into being that which does not exist.”

Information provided through www.4mormon.org  please check their website for a multitude of excellent information. Check this pdf for a quick reference overview Who Are Mormons – Their History – Beliefs and Practices.

Be aware of these points:

Joseph Smith was arrested and charged and placed under arrest in 1826, four years before the publication of the Book of Mormon. He was examined in court in Bainbridge, New York on the charge of being “a disorderly person and an impostor” in connection with his use of a (occult) peep stone to search for buried treasure. While the evidence indicates he was found guilty of this charge. The young Joseph was apparently released on the condition that he leave the area. The same stone was put in Joseph Smiths hat four years later to write the book of Mormon. He would then blocked he light and see the words for the book of Mormon before his eyes coming from the stone. (see http://mit.irr.org/translation-or-divination).

The book of Mormon is supposed to contain the history of the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. The problem with the Book of Mormon is that there is absolutely no objective, external evidence for much of the information found in the book. The information that is trustworthy was plagiarised out of the King James Bible.

The fact that the Book of Mormon cannot be verified externally, the potential convert is told that the Smithsonian Institution uses the Book of Mormon to aid its archaeological work. In a letter referring to this Mormon claim, the Smithsonian Institution Department of Anthropology states: “The Smithsonian Institution has never used the Book of Mormon in any way as a scientific guide. Smithsonian archaeologists see no connection between the archaeology of the New World and the subject matter of the Book. (Letter from the Smithsonian Institution SIL-76, Summer 1979). The book of Mormon covers a period from 600 BC to AD 400, the  Smithsonian Institution points out that the plants and animals mentioned in the book of Mormon were not found in the Americas until 1492.

A disturbing fact is that the book of Mormon has been changed 3,913 times since the first edition in 1830.

Another disturbing fact is that all of the Mormon prophecies have failed to come to pass! that’s right a 100 percent failure rate.

The Mormon religion has no foundation in archaeology, the Mormon books cannot be trusted due to thousands of changes (God supposedly making mistakes), the books are full of contradictions, their teachings show hatred towards the true Christian Church, Mormon leaders are false prophets, so what conclusion must we draw? Mormonism is not Gods one true religion on the earth today. Its is in fact a complete fabricated lie, driven by historically deceived men who have passed down this deception for well over a hundred years. Unfortunately good people who genuinely want to seek and please Father God get trapped in this false religion.
