Can I be sure I am going to Heaven?

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (KJV)

We are the ones who make the choice. We either choose salvation and abundant life here and heaven after death, or we refuse and face judgement and wrath resulting in eternal hell.

The Bible clearly shows us that there is only one way to Heaven one bridge that leads to salvation and eternal life in Heaven after our bodies die.

Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me Matthew 28:18 (KJV)

Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 14:6 (KJV) The answer to the question above is Yes, you can be totally one hundred percent sure.

Its not a mystery or hard to understand. The Bible scriptures make it clear and explain with total clarity how you can be sure of going Heaven.

It starts with you making a decision

in your heart.

A decision to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.

It continues as you turn from the sin in your life  and start living a renewed life with Jesus everyday.

Let me be clear on this issue “you cannot earn your place in Heaven by doing lots of good works or being a really good person”.

The Bible teaches that through salvation (Accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour) Jesus has already prepared a home for you in Heaven with the Father. It is a free gift because Jesus has already paid the price for you with His precious eternal Holy blood on the cross.

I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? John 3:12

Good works cannot save you.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Jesus said:

“In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.”

Jesus answered and said unto him, “If a man love me, he will keep my words (obey My teaching), and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our  home with him.” “Someone who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words — and the word you are hearing is not my own but that of the Father who sent me.” (John 14:2, 23-24)

Trust Jesus Christ today! Here’s what you must do:

  1. Admit you are a sinner.”For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12)“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10)
  2. Be willing to turn from sin (repent).Jesus said: “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5)“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17:30)
  3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)“But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
  4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour.“For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

When you pray “mean it with all your heart” because the Lord is interested in your heart.

Please pray the following prayer;

Dear Father God, I realise I am separated from you by my sinfulness and need your forgiveness in my life.

I am sorry that I have been going my own way instead of your way.

I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for me on the cross paying in full for all my sin, I confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.

I willingly turn from my life of separation from You. I now invite you Jesus Christ to come into my heart as my personal Saviour and Lord. I believe I am forgiven and saved,

Amen.
